A vacation from reality Wednesday, October 09, 2013

I’m on vacation, but not really.

Sometimes, I need a vacation from reality – which is the case lately, when I realize just how bad things can get behind the scenes.

We live in a world where people can shift from a good life to the bad life and not realize what they are losing.

Slightly more than a year ago, I saw a very happy person with a very bright future come into my life.

Within a matter of months, everything went wrong, the person listened to the wrong advice, presuming that a new found friend had her best interest at heart.

Nothing was more wrong.

I thought this friend just wanted to steal what this happy person had, or out of jealously wanted to deny happiness this so-called friend could not get.

Suddenly, the two became close in an ugly way, wandering through a maze of pathetic fake joy that left my happy friend without happiness and without the bright future.

Her friend apparently was unable to steal the happiness for herself but managed to make it impossible for the happy person to remain happy.

Both began to live a savage life, a sad life, so that my happy person became just like the unhappy one.

So much so I can’t tell them apart.
